All middle and high school science teachers are invited to register for a free introductory online workshop lead by Modeling facilitators. The objective is to provide 1) and introduction to Modeling Instruction, our facilitators and other applicants, 2) approaches to promote student engagement and elicitation of student thinking and 3) some insights about effective online learning in a science course. There are 6 FREE summer 2020 online introductory workshop listed below.
–Modeling in MiSTAR 6th/7th – June 23 and 26, 9 AM – 12 PM
–Modeling in HS Biology – July 6, 9 AM – 12 PM
–Modeling in HS Physical Science – July 8, 9 AM – 12 PM
–Modeling in HS Physics – July 9, 9 AM – 3:30 PM
–Modeling with MiSTAR 8th grade- July 13 and 16, 9 AM – 12 PM
–Modeling in HS Chemistry – July 15, 9 AM – 12 PM
Each event is set up for a maximum number of participants and if we see an overage in our registrations we will schedule an additional date. Therefore, please register with a strong sense of commitment that you will attend. Most of our planned face to face workshops had more applicants than seats so it is a possibility that we will experience an excess. It’s possible that interest will exceed our capacity so we’ll let you know if we are full.
